Oyster Point | Neolith

  • For Oyster Point, a landmark biotech campus in South San Francisco, I provided full exterior architectural photography services for NEOLITH. The design, led by DGA planning | architecture | interiors with Evolv Surfaces, features NEOLITH’s Iron Copper, Terrazzo Ceppo, and a custom color finish—materials chosen for their durability against the oceanfront environment and their timeless architectural character.

My role was to capture both the project’s scale and material detail through ground-based architectural photography at morning, daytime, and twilight, as well as aerial photography and videography. The result was a cohesive visual narrative showcasing the façade as the central design feature of this multi-building biotech campus.

Biotech architectural project - South San Francisco, CA

  • This project came with several unique challenges beyond the photography itself. Because Oyster Point lies within SFO’s restricted airspace, all drone operations required FAA approval and strict coordination under my Part 107 license. Business travel logistics also added complexity—traveling from Denver meant aligning with the property owner’s schedule and the project timeline, while also planning for the right lighting conditions. I used tools like Google Earth to map the sun’s path and determine the best time of day for each façade, ensuring the materials were captured in their ideal light. In addition, the project team was split between the U.S. and Spain, requiring clear communication across time zones to keep the creative direction consistent.

Through this careful planning and coordination, each of these challenges was successfully navigated, resulting in a complete and impactful set of imagery.
